Al-Hijra Saturday School
The current Saturday school program was established in 2003 and is completing its sixth year by the end of May 2009. This program provides a limited alternative for families that can not afford full-time Islamic schools within our community.
With solid Islamic values and a great pride of our heritage, faith and contribution to our society, the graduates of today are better prepared to lead the community in the future where a better leadership is of a great importance to all.
The following is a summary of the current activities:
• The students are getting the opportunity to participate in a limited weekend programs that offers Quran memorization, Arabic classes, and Islamic studies.
• This weekend program provides an Islamic education alternative for our children to keep them busy and away from other non beneficial activities.
• Many students completed the memorization of various chapters of Quran. Students were also given the opportunity to present speeches, perform Azan and participate in community activities. The students were also encouraged to participate in Islamic Nashid classes and special events.
• This program provides a great place for volunteering and community services.
• This program provided an additional limited income source for the on-going operations of Al-Hijra organization.
